FORWARD OPERATING BASE KALSU, Iraq – Concerned local citizens from Arab Jabour held a luncheon for coalition forces, Dec. 17, to mark the security progress being made in the village of Abd-Al Salmon.

Col. Terry Ferrell, commander of 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division; Lt. Col. Kenneth Adgie, commander of 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd BCT, 3rd Inf. Div.; General Mustafa, the leader of the Arab Jabour concerned local citizens, and more than 100 CLCs attended the meeting.

Iraqi media conducted interviews with Gen. Mustafa and other CLC members regarding the improved quality of life in Arab Jabour and the surrounding areas.

The main theme of the luncheon was to emphasize the improved security in the area and to get recognition from the government of Iraq. The residents said recognition from GoI is needed so essential services such as electricity can be a permanent fixture in the area.

The CLCs also expressed their desire to transition into the Iraqi security forces.
