SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. – This week’s U.S. Army Central Soldier Spotlight is Sgt. 1st Class Esther Jacques, USARCENT human resources, policy and programs senior noncommissioned officer. Jacques is this week’s Soldier Spotlight for her years of service as a leader and former drill sergeant.

Jacques, an Orlando, Fla. native, joined the U.S. Army in 2004, marking this year her 10th year as a Soldier. Jacques has had many accomplishments during her career from being deployed to training the Army’s new recruits as a drill sergeant from 2009 to 2011 and she said the challenge to transform civilians into Soldiers felt rewarding and her inspirations drew from John Maxwell— “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”
