PHENIX CITY, Ala. - A Central High School student was recognized Friday, Oct. 10, for his accomplishments on and off the field during a pep rally before the school’s game against long-time rival American Heritage High School.
Trey Samuel, a running back with the Central Devils football team, was selected to compete in the Marine Corps’ Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl on Jan. 4, 2015, in Carson, California.
Samuel said he was excited about the opportunity to play in California and was looking forward to the challenge.
Samuel, an 18-year-old senior at Central, is one of only about 100 students selected to play in the tournament from across the country and one of only three from the state of Alabama.
