SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. – This week’s U.S. Army Central Soldier Spotlight is Spc. Adam Chambers, motor transport operator for Headquarters Support Company.
Chambers is a native of Riddle, Ore. He joined the Army at the age of 18 and is married with three
children.
Q. What are your hobbies?
A. My hobbies include hunting and fishing; I also play a lot of Xbox 360.
Q. What do you enjoy doing most during your free time?
A. During my free time I play Xbox 360.
Q. What is your short- term professional goal?
A. My short-term goal is to get promoted to the rank of sergeant and go to trade school for carpentry.
Q. When did you make the decision to become a Soldier and why?
A. I made the decision to become a Soldier when I was 18 because my father and two of my brothers were in the Marine Corp.
Q. If you could take a vacation to a location of your choice, where would you go?
A. I would take a vacation to Alaska, I hear the hunting and fishing is second to none.
Q. What do you enjoy most about being a Soldier?
A. What I enjoy most about being a Soldier is being a person my children can look up to.
Q. If you could change one thing about the Army, what would you change and why?
A. If I could change one thing about the army, I would make the first week of deer season a Federal holiday and we would get that week off.
Q. If you could hold a different position in USARCENT for one day, what position would you choose?
A. If I could a position in USARCENT for one day, I would definitely be the first sergeant so I could give deserving Soldiers time off.
