    Arizona National Guard Public Affairs

PHOENIX - August is Antiterrorism Awareness Month, and the Arizona National Guard reminds members to be aware and vigilant.

Soldiers, Airmen, civilian personnel and their families must be aware of potential threats, learn to detect possible terrorist activities and know how to report suspicious activity.

The key message for antiterrorism is, “See something, say something!”

Each person is a first line of defense against terrorism. By understanding individual responsibilities, to include procedures for reporting suspicious activity, everyone can take an active part in keeping others safe.

Antiterrorism officials remind unit members to remain current with required training such as the Threat Awareness and Reporting Program, Antiterrorism Level 1, and Information Assurance Training. Also be familiar with directives covering operations security within your unit.

Each individual should manage their social media identity and use security filters to limit exposure of personal information.

Guard members and employees are most familiar with their work areas and are encouraged to say something if they see a suspicious package or activity.

To report suspicious activities, contact security personnel at your installation or contact the Joint Operation Center at 602-267-2583.

Remember that security is everyone’s responsibility. See something, say something!
