BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan - Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, International Security Assistance Force and United States Forces-Afghanistan commander, recognized several service members assigned to the XVIII Airborne Corps, in an award ceremony conducted at the USFOR-A headquarters, July 31, 2014.
During the event, Sgt. 1st Class Jacob Huckleby, Operations Noncommissioned Officer assigned to the J3 USFOR-A, received the Joint Service Commendation Medal. Capt. Peter Camacho, USFOR-A Basing Officer and Staff Sgt. Alonzo Chavez, assigned to the USFOR-A command group, also received the Joint Service Achievement Medal.
The ceremony recognized the troops’ achievements in support of the operations in country, especially during the recent move of the USFOR-A headquarters to Bagram. The soldiers’ efforts sustained continued operations in two locations with zero performance degradation and saved the United States government more than two million dollars, while maintaining 100 percent accountability of all personnel and property.
