COLUMBUS, Ohio — Maj. Gen. Deborah A. Ashenhurst, Ohio adjutant general, will be available for media interviews as part of Military Appreciation Day at the 2014 Memorial Tournament.
Ashenhurst, who assumed her duties on Jan. 10, 2011, is a member of the governor’s cabinet and is responsible for the command of the Ohio National Guard and the military readiness of the Ohio Military Reserve and Ohio Naval Militia.
Military Appreciation Day is free for all military personnel (including immediate family members) with a valid active or retired military ID.
Activities include:
• 7 a.m. – Gates Open
• 1:30 p.m. – Exclusive PGA Tour/Military Golf Clinic (Practice Range)
• 3 p.m. – Honoree Ceremony (Driving Range)
• 4:30 p.m. – Jack Nicklaus Golf Clinic (Driving Range)

WHAT: Media availability concerning the Ohio National Guard’s involvement in Military Appreciation Day at the 2014 Memorial Tournament. Select Ohio National Guard Airmen and Soldiers, and some other military service members, will be honored during a luncheon hosted by Memorial Tournament founder and PGA legend Jack Nicklaus. Service members also will provide color guard and flag details as part of the Honoree Ceremony for Annika Sörenstam.
WHEN: 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
WHERE: Military Appreciation Day luncheon tent at Muirfield Village Golf Club, 5750 Memorial Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
