Joint Task Force Bravo

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras - The U.S. Army South command sergeant major visited Joint Task Force-Bravo March 24-27, 2014, to meet with senior enlisted leaders and members of Joint Task Force-Bravo's Army Forces Battalion (ARFOR), Medical Element (MEDEL), Joint Security Forces and the military working dogs section, 1-228th Aviation Regiment, and 612th Air Base Squadron as well as learn about the missions performed at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras.

Over the course of two days, U.S. Army South Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis Zavodsky, toured the base, ate with the junior enlisted service members, received multiple mission briefings, met with every major subordinate command leader, attended a change of responsibility ceremony, and spoke with the Task Force members during an all-call in the base theater.

“The purpose of the visit was to provide any support or help that Army South can,” said Zavodsky. “The more we know about what is going on here, at Soto Cano Air Base, the easier it is for us to provide oversight and support.”

“Sergeant Major Zavodsky is very outgoing and truly cares for his troops, we appreciate his willingness to listen and help,” said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Richard Babb, assistant tower chief controller.

Throughout his visit Zavodsky toured the installations, shook hands, and spoke with the service members about their time and experiences while in Joint Task Force-Bravo. He carried several flashcards and took notes while the service members expressed their concerns and comments.

“I like to take notes, because they’re a constant reminder of what needs to be improved,” said Zavodsky.

During the breakfast Zavodsky shared with selected service members from ARFOR and 228 AVN, as well as during the all-call held in the base theater, he emphasized the importance of preparing yourself in order to progress further in their careers.

“He gave us some interesting insight regarding the way ahead in future Army programs and to an extent, operations,” said U.S. Army Sgt. Seth Barham.
