DCMA employees walk 'the Mall' for fitness

WASHINGTON - Fitness enthusiasts walk shopping malls all over the country for health and fitness benefits, but in the nation’s capital fitness enthusiasts have the opportunity to walk the National Mall.

That’s exactly where 11 employees of Defense Contract Management Agency Portfolio Management and Integration Directorate’s National Capital Region office conducted their Walk to Wellness event May 14.

The group began their fitness walk at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station and walked around the National Mall area, known internationally for its iconic monuments and memorials honoring the country’s past presidents including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln, as well as the nation’s veterans. The group ended its walk at the Lincoln Memorial.

The goal of this year's DCMA Walk to Wellness events is to celebrate and promote the health and fitness of the agency's employees. Between now and June 28, employees across the agency will participate in Walk to Wellness activities.
