Navy father sends love from Afghanistan on Father’s Day

TARIN KOT, AFGHANISTAN – Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Juan Flores, laboratory technician for the Role Two Hospital, is currently serving with Combined Team Uruzgan at Multinational Base - Tarin Kot, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Juan Flores, laboratory technician for the Role Two Hospital, is currently serving with Combined Team Uruzgan at Multinational Base - Tarin Kot, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Flores, a native of Chicago, Ill., and a graduate of Latino Youth High School, arrived in theater in April 2013. Flores has served in the military for nine years. This is his fourth deployment.

Many soldiers have been away from their families for important holidays, and with Father’s Day approaching, Flores had a few words for his family and sons, Alexander and Alejandro.

"I want to thank my family for their support; I miss and love them,” Flores said. “To my boys, I can't wait to see you both. Be good and I love you guys!"

Flores is scheduled to return to Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF) Great Lakes, Ill., later this year.
