TARIN KOT, AFGHANISTAN – First Lt. Anthony Kozubal, a medical operations officer with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, is currently serving with Combined Team Uruzgan at Multinational Base - Tarin Kot, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Kozubal, a native of Grandville, Mich., and a graduate of Grandville High School and the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, arrived in theater in November 2012. Kozubal has served in the military for eleven years. This is his second deployment.
Many soldiers have been away from their families for important holidays, and with Father’s Day approaching, Kozubal had a few words for daughters Jennifer and L.J.
"Hey baby girl!” Kozubal said. “Daddy will be home soon. Get ready for “oreo meetings"! L.J., I’ll be home before you know it. Take care of sis and mom for me. Love you both!”
Kozubal is scheduled to return to Fort Stewart, Ga., in the next few months.
