    II Marine Expeditionary Force

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Military spouses from 2nd Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 25, 2nd Marine Logistics Group came together for Spouses Day at the Stone Street Community Center, here, March 22.

The spouses participated in “Four Lenses,” which is a personality temperament assessment using the colors gold, green, orange and blue to help describe a person’s individuality.

After determining their team colors, participants moved into groups working to find a mascot, motto and words to best describe their temperament. The group’s mascots varied from a monkey to an ant and used mottos like, “If you can’t do it, I will.”

Later in the day, different organizations here, give them more information on support programs and where to find a helping hand.

“The spouses are behind the scenes doing a lot of supporting of the Marine [Corps] and their active duty servicemembers,” said Brittney Foster, a Columbus, Ohio, native, and wife of an ammunition technician with the battalion. “It’s very helpful to know that you’re not alone, and you can get that help,” she said.
Marine Corps Family Team Building office representative, Eric Carlson, spoke about readiness and deployment support classes to working on a family care plan.

“The more things we can give a person to be prepared for what’s ahead, I think, the better,” said Carlson, a Virginia, Minn., native, and family readiness deployment support trainer and life skill trainer for MCFTB. “Life presents plenty of challenges on its own – let alone a military life.”

During the day, attendants will be talked to a little more about volunteering, and briefed on what the command is doing for the next year, said Jim Stolarczyk, a Grafton, Wis., native, and the family readiness officer for 2nd Supply Battalion.

The 2nd Supply Battalion commanding officer, Lt. Col. Jesse Kemp, also gave more information about future operations and the purpose of the battalion to 2nd MLG and to Camp Lejuene.

Along with Spouses Day, the battalion plans on hosting a family day, field meet and Lifestyle, Insights, Networking, Knowledge and Skills, or L.I.N.K.S., class for the entire battalion in the upcoming months.
