Students and staff from Officer Training Command, Surface Warfare Officers School, Marine Corps Detachment, U.S. Naval Academy Prep School, Navy Supply Corps School, and Naval Health Clinic New England from Naval Station Newport volunteer to take turns carrying a flaming torch during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Torch Run from Patriots Park in Portsmouth, R.I. to the Thompson Middletown School, in Newport, R.I.
