Senior enlisted Army Reserve soldier awarded Firefighter of the Year

Command Sgt. Maj. Mark Kloha was awarded Firefighter of the Year for city of Midland, Mich. Kloha, who is a 21-year veteran as a firefighter, is also a 29-year veteran for the Army Reserve.

Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) firefighter Senior Airman Steven Soto recently won the Army-level Military Firefighter of the Year honors, and will now represent the Department of the Army and compete against the other services for the Department of Defense Military Firefighter of the Year honors later this year.   • Sgt. Charles Fricker, a percussionist with the 36th Infantry Division Band and a 39-year-old native of Philadelphia, Pa., practices his beats for his role as the drummer in the rock band. The 14-year veteran of the Army Reserve and National Guard was one of 12 recipients of the first Col. Finley R. Hamilton Military Outstanding Musician Award, which acknowledges enlisted musicians from each branch of service in the U.S. military forces who show exceptional qualities in military leadership and music.
