Staff Sgt. Thomas "T.J." Edwards stands on the rear hatch of his Stryker vehicle at a joint U.S.-Iraqi army compound in Khan bani sa'ad. Edwards recently took part in a large clearing operation which flushed insurgents from the neighborhood of Al-Askari, a village they took over one year ago. More than 100 displaced families are set to return to Al-Askari with financial help from the Iraqi federal government.
