U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Brandon Mann, a dog handler with Alpha Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, and native of Arlington, Texas, and Ty, an improvised explosive device detection dog, hunt and clear a hill for weapons, drugs and IED component caches during a patrol through Sre Kala village here, March 5. Marines and sailors with Alpha Co. conduct daily patrols to disrupt enemy activity and search for enemy weapons caches, clearing the area as Afghan security forces prepare to take the lead in counterinsurgency operations within the district.
