Tyler, Texas native, Cpl. Jared Sackett was meritoriously promoted to his current rank during a formation with fellow Marines at Marine Corps Training and Advisory Group. He is a Bullard High School class of 2008 graduate, and was one of five Marines selected for meritorious promotions at Third Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan. Third Marine Division had more than 2,000 Marines eligible for this type of promotion and the Division’s leadership identified and selected Sackett for having a collective standard of proficiency that exceeded all of his peers and therefore best qualified to get promoted.
