World War II veterans march past the parade judges stand in the 63rd annual 2011 Armed Forces Day Parade. The parade began in 1948, two years before Armed Forces Day became a federally recognized holiday. Thousands of spectators viewed more than 150 marching units, dozens of military entries and several marching bands. The parade is the nation's largest and longest-running Armed Forces Day Parade.
