Explosive ordnance disposal Marines attached to Company I, Battalion Landing Team 3/8, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Regimental Combat Team 8, conduct a controlled detonation to clear an improvised explosive device, at Kakar, Helmand province, Afghanistan, Feb. 14, 2011. Explosive ordnance disposal Marines found and cleared seven main charges, three pressure-plates and a command-pull device from Kakar that day. Elements of 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit deployed to Afghanistan to provide regional security in Helmand province in support of the International Security Assistance Force.
