A landing craft air cushion, assigned to Assault Craft Unit 5, embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer, lands on Red Beach at Camp Pendleton, Calif. ACU-5 is transporting 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit personnel and equipment from Boxer to participate in simulated operations ashore. The Boxer Amphibious Readiness Group and the 13th MEU are participating in a certification exercise in preparation for deployment in early 2011.
