Petty Officer 3rd Class Carlos I. Hernandez, a hospital corpsman with 1st Medical Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group, inventories medical equipment at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Nov. 30. Hernandez was one of two corpsmen selected to receive a $500 Patriots Ministry scholarship. The scholarship was created in memory of a fallen soldier, Army medic Bryce Gautier, from Cypress, Calif., who was killed in Iraq earlier this year by an improvised explosive device.
