Maj. Jose Martinez, the operations officer for 15th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, receives his gold spurs from Lt. Col. Chris Whittaker, the commander of 15th BSB, during an award ceremony at Forward Operating Base Warrior, Kirkuk, Iraq, Nov. 7. Gold spurs are awarded to Soldiers who deployed to a combat environment with a cavalry unit.
