Duckworth, a major in the Illinois Army National Guard who was wounded in Iraq in 2004 when the UH-60 Blackhawk she was piloting was shot down, addressed many of the recent changes made at the VA to include a streamlined process for service members to receive care, additional clinics, advancements in care for women, and electronic medical records designed to follow the servicemember throughout his or her career.
