Department of Defense officials announced the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom Dec 14. Sgt. 1st Class Ramon Sheldon Morris, 37, whose home of record is listed as New York, N.Y., died Dec. 12, in Parwan province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when the enemy attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. Morris entered active duty service in February 1996 as a combat engineer. He was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, since March 2012.
