Major demolition of Building 6260, started Oct. 1 and is expected to continue over the next few weeks at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Oct. 6, 2014. The first stages of the project included processing debris and separating materials to be recycled. With wood trusses more than 50 years old and collapsing, the building was deemed unsafe.
