U.S. and Canadian service members, along with representatives from the United States Agency for International Development and World Food Program, gather at the Canadian Embassy in Haiti to discuss hurricane relief efforts. The amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge is assisting USAID and WFP by airlifting food and supplies to flooded areas of Haiti where damaged roads are making access difficult. America's contribution to the relief efforts in Haiti are coordinated by USAID and its Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance.
