CORPUS CHRISTI - In this photo by the U.S. Coast Guard, Fireman David Edwards of Aids to Navigation Team Corpus Christi charges a battery on ANTON Light 43, in the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008.

The battery, which has a 72-month shelf-life, power the lights ontop of the ATON. These lights and markers help ships to safely navigate the southern Texas waters.
