Spc. Kirwin J. Darney III (left) Nisha Reynolds (center) and her son reunite a few days after Darney rescued him on Independence Day weekend in Raleigh, N.C. Darney, a North Carolina National Guard soldier, ran to help Reynold’s child after he heard her scream and found her son face down and motionless in a small pond near Darney’s apartments’ pool.
