Operation Outreach Afghanistan Kids DayThe volunteers of Operation Outreach gave a few Afghan children the opportunity to experience their first time seeing a fire fighter and hearing an animal's heart beat. The children ventured from Malali English Language Center, the Afghan Challenger English Language Center and the PARSA Afghanistan Scouts to visit the base as part of a community outreach project.

ND Army National Guard's Chaplain Corps boosted to full strengthFor the first time in more than 15 years, the N.D. Army National Guard's chaplain corps will be at full strength. First Lt. Yacob Makonnen, who is a chaplain candidate with the Fargo-based 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, will be reappointed as an Army chaplain and promoted to the rank of captain during a formal ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17 in the theater of the Raymond J. Bohn Armory in Bismarck.

Minnesota Soldiers compete for title of Best WarriorNine Minnesota Army National Guard Soldiers competed in the 2014 Minnesota National Guard Best Warrior Competition Apr 9-13, 2014. Each Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer from the five major Army National Guard organizations within the State of Minnesota were selected by their leadership for their tactical and technical skills. "Warriors selected to compete for these prestigious titles have mastered a series of benchmarks throughout the year to qualify for the Minnesota National Guard Best Warrior Competition," said Army Command Sergeant Major, Cynthia Kallberg.
