VMFA(AW)-533 powerliners keep planes flying during KMEP 14-13Powerline mechanics with Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 533, also known as the “Hawks,” maintain flight schedules and conduct maintenance and inspections on their F/A-18 Hornets during the Korean Marine Exchange Program 14-13, Oct. 13, 2014, on Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, to increase the Marine Aircraft Group 12’s combat readiness, operating skills as a Marine Air-Ground Task Force and enhance joint and combined integration with the U.S. Air Force and ROK Marine Corps.

The first three causalities were escorted in and immediately cared for. The severities of the injuries are different but the service members had a mission: to keep their patients alive. The introduction of their first severely injured patient marked the beginning of Final Exercise I. Marines and sailors with Shock Trauma Platoon, Combat Logistics Battalion 15, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducted FINEX I, which is a small component of Weapons and Tactics Instructor’s Course, at Sand Hill, Oct. 14, 2014. The mission of the STP was to provide first aid and resuscitation to mock causalities.
