Forager Fury III flies through half-way pointMarine aircraft squadrons who arrived in Guam to participate in Valiant Shield 2014, which ended Sept. 23, pushed on to conduct Forager Fury III and have now reached their official half-way point on schedule, meeting their training objectives.

F-35 makes Miramar Air Show debutAt the 2014 Miramar Air Show, spectators will see many military aircraft, but this year, one particular aircraft will be making its first appearance. Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 121, from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, is scheduled to show off the capabilities of the F-35B Lightning II during demonstrations at the air show, Oct. 3-5.

Combat Logistics Battalion 7 Marines rebuild obstacle courseApproximately 15 Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 7 are in the process of renovating the obstacle course near the East Gym aboard the Combat Center, Monday. Restoration of the course began two weeks ago. The course, which was built in the late 1950s, is entirely made of wood and was in need of repair due to wear and tear.


Quality assurance maintains Marines’ safety
When aircraft are damaged, someone has to ensure they are fixed correctly, safely and quickly. Aviation quality assurance representatives provide guidance to the personnel who maintain the aircraft. “Quality assurance is responsible for the overall safety in the maintenance department, quality of maintenance and prevention of defects,” said Gunnery Sgt. Stephen Pojda, the quality assurance chief for Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
