A CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter approaches the Marines whose bodies are covered with Kevlar helmets, flak jackets, neck gaiters and gloves. As the aircraft approaches, the Marines below fight the torrential winds to complete their mission: attach the Humvee to the CH-53E.

Combat Center Marines participate in Pioneer DaysCombat Center Marines participated in the 77th Annual Pioneer Days Parade in Twentynine Palms, Saturday. The Pioneer Days celebration began as the May Day event in 1937. It grew into a three-day event in 1950 and is now celebrated four days in October.

MCAS Miramar Falcons win first playoff gameThe Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Falcons’ football team defeated the 3rd Amphibian Assault Battalion Gators in their first playoff game, 30-0, at Paige Fieldhouse aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 21. The Falcons struck early in the first quarter with a 50-yard run by Patrick Williams, Falcons’ fullback, making the score 6-0.


What I've Learned: Kelly Mae Hahn
Lance Cpl. Kelly Mae Hahn, combat engineer, began fishing from a young age and grew to love hunting throughout high school. She attended Western Iowa Tech Community College for police science and technology and decided to join the Marine Corps to do something different and gain experience for the career she studied. Hahn began riding motorcycles aboard the Combat Center and now enjoys riding as a hobby.
