Same service but new location for Western Regulatory Field Office
Same mission, different work space for Western Regulatory Field OfficeThe Nashville District’s Western Regulatory Field Office relocated this week to a new location in Decatur, Alabama. Its staff assists with processing permits pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act in the Tennessee River Basin from Guntersville Dam to Kentucky Dam.

Energy Savings Performance Contract sets Fort Buchanan on path toward achieving Army’s Net Zero goalsThe U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ first and only Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) to include wind power generation is nearly complete at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. One of several energy conservation measures implemented through the ESPC, two wind turbines will produce an estimated 5 percent of the energy consumed by the installation. In addition, a total of 21,824 solar photovoltaic panels will produce about 5.5 megawatts of power, which is at least 60 percent of the installation’s current power demand at its peak production.

Localities across the nation are tapping into these skills through the DoD Innovative Readiness Training program. First authorized in 1993, IRT allows reserve component units to hone their wartime readiness through hands-on training while simultaneously providing quality services to communities throughout the U.S.
