Air Force Reserve, Army units collaborate on World War II chapel renovationsby Christina Carmen Crea Northwest Guardian 9/11/2014 - JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- Turning a World War II-era chapel into an Environmental Education and Conference Center here has connected Washington National Guard's 176th Engineers and 446th Airlift Wing Citizen Airmen in a unique way.

446th AW passes Seahawks' 12th-Man flag to Coast GuardA "change of command" ceremony took place Tuesday at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. But instead of the colors of a unit being exchanged, a light blue flag with the number 12 passed from leaders of the 446th Airlift Wing on McChord Field to those of the U.S. Coast Guard's 13th District in Seattle.

Stay aggressive: Battlefield Airman teaches Tactical Combat Casualty Care
“Stay aggressive! Stay engaged,” yelled Master Sgt. Jose Almeida, to a room filled with security forces Airmen, tactical air control party Airmen, and law enforcement officers from all over Atlantic County, New Jersey. Almeida, a joint terminal air controller from the 227th Air Support Operations Squadron, is using his combat experience from Afghanistan as well as job experience from his full time position as a combat medic with Miami SWAT to teach over 30 hours of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) to battlefield Airmen and local first responders.

Altus AFB honors POW/MIA Recognition DayAirmen of Altus Air Force Base participated in a POW/MIA recognition retreat ceremony at Wings of Freedom Park, Sept. 19, 2014. The ceremony was conducted in honor of National Prisoners of War/Missing in Action Recognition Day, which is observed on the third Friday of September.
