F-15 maintenance: The relationship between jet and maintainer
Phase maintenanceThe life of a 173rd Fighter Wing maintainer at Kingsley Field, Oregon, has fundamental qualities; first off, you will be busy ... really busy. The base routinely prepares 12 jets on a given day, so 10 can fly in the morning and eight of those can fly in the afternoon. Every morning, this creates a beehive of activity as numerous shops tend to the care of all 32 aircraft assigned.

179th Airlift Wing fills its fleet
179th Airlift Wing fills its fleetOn Oct. 8, 2014, members of the 179th Airlift Wing traveled to Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., to pick up its final two C-130H Hercules, completing its fleet with a total of eight. These particular aircraft previously served in Air National Guard missions, one from New York Air National Guard and the other from the Alaska Air National Guard.

179th AW dedicates C-130H spirit of Clear Fork Valley
On Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, the 179th Airlift Wing will dedicate one of the C-130H, aircraft 81-0629 to the villages of Bellville and Butler. The dedication ceremony will begin at 1530, weather permitting, the C-130 will be located outside in front of the hangar 102. The 179th Airlift Wing will be designating the aircraft as the "Spirit of Clear Fork Valley". The title “Spirit of Clear Fork Valley” is painted over the aircrew door, underneath the title is an Air Force Outstanding Unit ribbon that the Wing has been awarded on numerous occasions.
