This interview by Master Sgt. Scott Sturkol, from March 9, was with Maj. William Gottenberg following his completing his 100th combat mission in support of overseas contingency operations with the 99th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron at a non-disclosed base in Southwest Asia. Gottenberg is a U-2 pilot who has flown his combat missions supporting operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom and the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. Gottenberg is deployed from Beale Air Force Base, Calif., and his hometown is Rocklin, Calif.
