    MND-B Soldiers find multiple weapons caches

    BAGHDAD - Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers found several weapons caches while on patrol Friday.

    Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, found a cache containing 31 155mm artillery rounds, detonation cord, primers and an unknown amount of 60 and 80mm mortar rounds while on patrol northeast of Baghdad.

    An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team secured the unexploded ordnance and transported it to another site, where the team performed a controlled detonation.

    Elsewhere, Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, found a weapons cache Friday south of Sadir Al Yusafiyah.

    The cache consisted of 16 60mm mortar rounds, four 82mm mortar rounds and a bag of charges.

    An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team performed a controlled detonation to destroy the cache.

    While conducting a deliberate cache search, Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, found several electronic initiating devices used to detonate roadside bombs and 1,000 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
