CAMP VICTORY, Iraq – Service Members deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom gathered at the Camp Victory Green Beans Pavilion, April 8, to enjoy an hour of laughter as they listened to comedians with Comic's Ready to Entertain.

In an effort to reach all Soldiers at Victory Base Complex, Comedians Scott Kennedy, Gary Cannon and Julia Lillis performed eight shows at various locations within a two-day period.

"God bless America," exclaimed Kennedy regarding his 36th tour to Iraq in his attempt to entertain those in service to their country.

"I will keep coming back to Iraq as long as I can keep entertaining." Kennedy said as he showed the audience his left arm, tattooed in honor of each branch of the military brandishing his patriotism.

Kennedy also sported several dog tags around his neck, each representing a fallen hero. "I just want to surround myself with people who are better than me and bring a bit of home here to Soldiers even if only for an hour," he continued.

Sgt. Keith J. Istre of Mermentau, La., with the Headquarters Company 256 Infantry Brigade Combat Team Brigade Special Troops Battalion Base Defense Operations Center had a positive reaction for the event. "I thought the show would be an interesting change from my daily routine," explained the chaplain's assistant. "I'm glad I went because the comedians were extremely funny; there was even a point where I could feel my face turning red from laughter."

"The show was absolutely hilarious and I really enjoyed it," said Warrant Officer 1 Todd C. Blanchard of Marksville, La., a vulnerability assessment team chief also with the 256th BDOC, as he waited in line for the comedians' autographs after the show.

Comic's Ready for Entertainment is hosted by the USO and is scheduled to return to Iraq for Troop support within the next couple of months.
