PRISTINA, Kosovo — The Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe rock band "Flagship" played two concerts here, Dec. 15, as part of a visit to bring entertainment and holiday cheer to the Multi-National Task Force service members deployed to the region.

"This was really great for us," said German Army Brig. Gen. Andreas Berg, who works at the Kosovo Force headquarters. "I'd like to thank the band for playing for us so magnificently."

Flagship played their first concert of the day on the MNTF base of Film City and then wrapped up their visit with an evening concert on the U.S. Army base of Camp Bondsteel. Flagship performed songs from such music giants as the Black Eyed Peas, Led Zeppelin and Michael Jackson, each carried out with a passion meant solely for the troops.

"Music is my passion, and it feels good to be able to give back in the best way I know how, through the gift of music," said Petty Officer 2nd Class Kori Gillis, a musician of the Naples, Italy-based Flagship. "I'm honored to be a part of something like this where we can come out and entertain service members that are so far from their families."

In conjunction with Flagship's visit, Adm. Mark Fitzgerald, commander, Allied Joint Force Command Naples addressed MNTF members before each show and later met with senior enlisted and officer leadership to discuss the progress made in the region as well as future plans.

"We've had two very successful elections, and we've been able to transition down to 10,000 [U.S.] troops, and that is a reflection of good leadership as well as the security and stability we've established here," said Fitzgerald while meeting with MNTF East soldiers. "Thank you all for what you're doing."
