    RC-North Commander Returns to Germany for Medical Treatment

    KABUL, Afghanistan - International Security Assistance Force Joint Command announced today that German Brig. Gen. Jurgen Setzer, commander of Regional Command North, is returning to Germany for medical treatment.

    "Gen. Setzer has been an outstanding leader, and we take pride in what he and his command have accomplished during his tour in Afghanistan," said Maj. Gen. Jacques Lechevallier, IJC deputy commander.

    "Throughout his tenure, RC North has consistently partnered with Afghan security forces to improve their capability and ability to protect the Afghan citizens. I wish Gen. Setzer a speedy recovery."

    German Brig. Gen. Frank Leidenberger will replace Setzer. Leidenberger most recently served as commanding general, Airborne Brigade 31.
