Soldiers participate in a half-marathon run at Contingency Operating Station Garryowen Oct. 25. The Amarah half-marathon was a 13-lap event on the mile-long gravel path along the protective walls of COS Garryowen. The run was hosted by the 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment "Regulars" of 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division "Highlander" deployed out of Fort Bliss, Texas. The Highlander Brigade advises and assists Iraqi Security Forces in Dhi Qar, Maysan, and Muthanna provinces in southern Iraq.
