Cpl. Brandon Alderman (bottom), an Oregon National Guard Modern Army Combative Program fighter from 3rd Battalion, 116th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Brigade, works his guard while attempting to gain a dominant position in the Army Combatives Championship on Fort Benning, Ga., Sept. 19. The Oregon Army National Guard sent six Soldiers to the 330-person tournament, which brings the best fighters in the Army together to determine who has the best MACP fighter and team program.
