An Iraqi national police officer from the 2nd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd NP Division, mans the entrance to Joint Security Station Aamel, Jan. 1. An Iraqi flag was raised over every combined forces base and Iraqi security forces headquarters in Baghdad when the security agreement came into effect at midnight. The Iraqi security forces operate from the base, which also houses Soldiers from Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, who conduct combined operations with the NP unit to support the ISF in their mission to provide security and stability for the people of Iraq.
