U.S. Army military police Soldier and gunner, Sgt. Janet Ybarra, 18th Military Police Brigade and Multi-National Division-Baghdad, conducts a weapons check prior to moving out for a combat mission in Iraq. Ybarra, a native of Otsego, Mich., is part the Brigade's Personal Security Detachment. Ybarra's job while out on a combat mission is to protect her squad and the most senior leader assigned to the team. Her senior leader while on mission assists and mentors the Iraqi police forces.
