RENO – Friends and family gather at the Washoe County Armory for the Recruit Sustainment Company change of command ceremony today.

The RSC, responsible for recruiting and retention, welcomed the incoming RSC commander, 2nd Lt. Tevin Flores. The crowd applauded as Flores acquired command from the outgoing commander, Capt. Alex Stackhouse.

Flores took the podium and acknowledged his family and friends in the audience for their unwavering support.

“As we look to the future, I express my deepest gratitude for the privilege to command,” said Flores. “As long as you take advantage of the opportunity that you have, the sky is truly the limit.”

Previously serving as a recruiter, Flores attained the states highest number of recruits in a fiscal year totaling 40 recruits with a 100% ship rate earning him the Director 54 award for the top recruiter of the year throughout the entire state.

Stackhouse has full confidence in Flores’ ability to command and expand on the efficiency within the unit despite the new changes being made in the organization.

“He’s hungry and ready to learn,” Stackhouse said. “I know he’s going to leverage that experience he has combined with his eagerness to grow as a leader.”
