Webcast: Medal of Honor recipient visits Camp Lejeune Marines

Medal of Honor recipient Cpl. William "Kyle" Carpenter will address Marines and sailors from II Marine Expeditionary Force and subordinate commands at the base theater aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, June 27, 2014. During his visit to the base, Carpenter will also tour the Wounded Warrior Battalion-East complex, visit with Marines from his former command 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, and have lunch with Marines from 2nd Marine Division battalions. Carpenter earned the nation's highest military award for his actions in Helmand province, Afghanistan, in November
2010 when he saved another Marine's life by shielding him from a grenade blast during an enemy attack.
