And I 00:29.799 --> 00:32.029 have felt called to this profession 00:32.040 --> 00:35.849 ever since nursing school . I enjoy the 00:35.860 --> 00:38.189 variety of settings that the specialty 00:38.200 --> 00:40.422 offers . I needed a 01:15.099 --> 01:18.099 way to pay for school . And so it was 01:18.110 --> 01:20.230 mostly for that reason to be able to 01:20.239 --> 01:23.489 finish college . And I was really 01:23.500 --> 01:25.709 really excited to be able to explore 01:25.720 --> 01:28.599 the world and to enjoy what Navy had to 01:28.610 --> 01:31.500 offer me . So some of the benefits for 01:31.510 --> 01:34.970 me has been raising a family in 01:34.980 --> 01:36.949 different areas of the country all 01:36.959 --> 01:39.292 around the world , being able to travel , 01:39.500 --> 01:43.139 um being able to expose my family to 01:43.150 --> 01:45.889 different cultures and to learn and 01:45.900 --> 01:48.309 grow . I feel like everywhere you go , 01:48.319 --> 01:51.569 you find a hidden treasure , whether 01:51.580 --> 01:54.550 that's a place , um a special memory 01:54.769 --> 01:56.713 and you get to bring that with you 01:56.713 --> 01:59.480 wherever you're going next . Um I was 02:20.369 --> 02:22.770 part of a group of people that helped 02:22.779 --> 02:24.850 teach breathing babies to different 02:24.860 --> 02:28.050 communities around the world . And I 02:28.059 --> 02:31.009 got to also be on a medical surgical 02:31.020 --> 02:33.779 floor and just really appreciated 02:33.789 --> 02:35.511 seeing um and interacting with 02:35.511 --> 02:37.733 different cultures around the world for 02:37.733 --> 02:39.511 me . Um especially being on the 02:39.511 --> 02:41.678 hospital ship , was feeling like I was 02:41.678 --> 02:43.678 a part of a mission that was bigger 02:43.678 --> 02:46.289 than myself . Um service to country um 02:46.300 --> 02:48.522 is very important to me . And so I felt 02:48.529 --> 02:50.960 like I was able to impact that while I 02:50.970 --> 02:54.169 was um on the comfort I want to be 02:54.179 --> 02:57.830 remembered as um , the person you could 02:57.839 --> 03:00.330 come to for some encouragement , the 03:00.339 --> 03:02.509 person that could pick you up and keep 03:02.520 --> 03:05.050 cheering you on . Um , I think we all 03:05.059 --> 03:07.003 kind of need that in our lives , a 03:07.003 --> 03:08.892 cheerleader in the background and 03:08.892 --> 03:09.539 that's who I wanna be to people .
