Infantrymen with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 181st Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts Army National Guard and Kenya Defence Forces prepare for a bilateral, live-fire exercise during Justified Accord 2026 at the Kenya School of Infantry in Isiolo, Kenya, March 4, 2026. Soldiers loaded ammunition and reviewed safety procedures and nine-line medical evacuation request protocols prior to training. This preparation ensured all participants understood range safety requirements and casualty response procedures, enhancing operational readiness and safe execution of the combined live-fire training.
JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions, and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya and Tanzania, this year’s exercise incorporates personnel from approximately 10 nations. JA26 is U.S. Africa Command’s largest exercise in East Africa. (U.S. Air Force video by Staff Sgt. Krystal England)
