Students in the U.S. Army Sniper Course conduct the ghillie wash exercise Jan 21, 2026, at Fort Benning, Georgia. The ghillie wash is designed to test the strength and durability of the suits as well as weather them. Sniper course students use sand, water and mud, all in an effort to perfect one of their most important tools: their camouflage.
