U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District donated an 80-by-40-foot building to Hyner Lodge Foundation in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, following closure of the Spring Valley Formerly Utilized Defense Sites project. The donation saved taxpayers an estimated $150,000 while providing the foundation with infrastructure to support programs for wounded, injured, and disabled veterans and their families. Todd Steelman, Ordnance and Explosives Safety Specialist with USACE Baltimore District, coordinated the donation and regularly volunteers at foundation events, including the annual Family Traditional Butchering event shown here, where approximately 80 veterans gather to process one steer and three hogs. The partnership between USACE Baltimore District and Hyner Lodge Foundation demonstrates both organizations' commitment to serving those who served. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers video)
