Multiple joint and combined capabilities shown operating during Scarlet Dragon 26-1 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Dec. 9, 2025. Scarlet Dragon is a recurring XVIII Airborne Corps–led experimentation series designed to accelerate the integration of emerging technologies into operational formations.
Since its inception, Scarlet Dragon has focused on closing the gap between innovation and execution by placing Soldiers, units, industry partners, and emerging systems into realistic operational scenarios. The exercise provides an environment where new concepts, sensors, networks, and autonomous platforms are tested against real-world challenges to inform future capability development.
During Scarlet Dragon 26-1, Soldiers integrated aviation assets, air defense systems, unmanned aerial systems, and networked command-and-control platforms to enhance detection, data sharing, and rapid decision-making across the battlefield. The cumulative training reinforces the Corps’ ability to adapt to modern threats by transforming how information is sensed, shared, and acted upon in contested environments.
Scarlet Dragon directly supports the Warfighter by ensuring Soldiers are equipped, trained, and networked to fight and win in future conflicts, turning innovation into operational advantage through repetition, realism, and Soldier-driven experimentation.
